When it comes to
CLIMATE CHANGE
don't sit on the fence
THE FENCE IS ON FIRE!
The Dragon & the Hummingbird
was written for fence-sitters, sceptics, and those friends of yours who say
'what's the point?'
It’s a funny, satirical, easy-to-read page-turner that gently explains
why it’s
getting hot in here
and why
taking off all our clothes
is probably not going to help...
Oh, and it’s 100% free.

Nudge them off the fence.
"A satire about Climate Change, Capitalism and cooperation."
"It's basically 'Sophie's World' for Capitalism."
“I can’t remember when I last read a book from cover to cover – with a small break for sleep before the final chapter. A super exposition, with a nice fairytale to set off with. A massive shift is required, and if this helps to stimulate it, good on you!”
"Finally, a book that bridges the gap between scientific facts and emotional understanding. Perfect for reaching those who need to hear this message." Loren Brogan, Restaurant Owner
“Who wants to read about the inconvenient truth? I must admit, I didn’t. But fear not! Graham Hall has found the sweet spot. The Dragon and the Hummingbird sits at the intersection of a fascinating Venn diagram, where history, data, humour and hope converge. Because climate change issues are complex, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Reading this book reawakened my interest. I feel alert to the politics of greed and failures of capitalism (and for someone who tunes out the news this is quite an achievement). Packed with information, delightfully accessible and never preachy, this is a book for everyone. Read it, feel inspired, take action.” Stephen Mirfin, Photographer

WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK
I spent 30 years in advertising encouraging people into buy stuff they didn't need. Then I saw the light or, more accurately, the rising sea levels, the flames, the floods, and the accelerating climate chaos.
So now, I'm using those skills and techniques to sell a different kind of product: the fight against climate change.
Whenever I'm with friends and the subject of climate change comes up, the conversation hits a wall.
We get bogged down in the same grievances: China’s coal plants, the validity of the science, the failures of capitalism. We trade soundbites, get defensive, and go nowhere. It’s exhausting, which is why so many people have stopped engaging.
Climate change is a mix of science, economics, and human nature. When you pull those threads apart, nothing makes sense. But when you lay them out together, a coherent picture emerges.
I wrote this book to untangle that knot.
I wanted to provide one straight-line argument, from start to finish, in one place.
And it needed to be accessible. This isn't a lecture. You don’t need a PhD to read it, and you won’t be blamed for what you don’t know. Progress doesn't come from shaming people; it comes when the mainstream understands the challenge well enough to act.
After all, if the forest is on fire, we have to ask: What difference can one hummingbird make? The answer is: EVERYTHING - if enough of us show up.
