*What is 'near cost'?

At the moment I have to use a print-on-demand book printer - and they need to make a profit. These books cost about 60% of the sale price to produce. Most of that profit goes to the printer - but I have to also include a small 'headroom' profit because the system won't allow me to sell at pure cost. So I am taking as little as possible from each sale. I apologise for that!
